Aperçus de l’économie sociale en Ontario: une modalité spécifique d’affirmation de la minorité francophone

<div>This article presents the findings of a body of research on the social economy within the particular context of the French-speaking minority in Ontario. In this kind of mini society, the creation of social economy organizations can be seen as manifestations of the solidarity struggle of the French-speaking minority in overcoming their precarious situation and resisting the political, material and symbolic domination affecting them. The forms and objectives of this communitarian economy have evolved in over more than a century. Defending their language and religious beliefs has become less pressing than the more concrete concerns about jobs that affect all of Canada. These necessary conditions enable researchers, activists and politicians to produce a symbolic construction of the social economy.</div>
