Depuis les années 1980, le monde associatif s’est fortement professionnalisé et l’emploi y a connu une exceptionnelle croissance. Aujourd’hui, près de 1,8 million de salariés travaillent dans les associations.

Alors que ces emplois semblent se maintenir malgré la crise, la question de leur qualité reste un défi à relever, tout particulièrement dans le contexte actuel de contraction budgétaire.

The International Co-operative Alliance Committee on Cooperative Research (ICA CCR) and the International Labour Organization (ILO) will host a research conference on 10-11 November 2015 in Antalya, Turkey. The conference will bring together researchers, students, practitioners, advocates, policy makers and representatives of employers’ and workers’ organizations working in areas of cooperative enterprises and social and solidarity economy organizations, as well as labour research and themes related to the world of work.

La déclaration de Rome

Ces 17 et 18 novembre, Rome accueillait une grande conférence autour de l’économie sociale. Organisée dans le cadre de la présidence italienne du Conseil de l’Union européenne, cette conférence fut précédée d’une consultation publique qui a permis, sur base de nombreuses contributions, de définir 10 groupes de travail. Plus de 600 personnes ont participé à l’évènement : acteurs de terrain, experts, politiques, etc.

Crisis highlighted that innovation, creativity on products, production process, governance and financing are essential elements of the productive organization to face problems and grow up. Cooperatives and social economy organizations have been in many occasions creative and innovative to all functional stages for the benefit of the members and the socio economic environment that they are engaged. The broad interpretation of cooperative principles gives cooperatives flexibility in designing their governance and financial structures, which are extremely efficient in the pursuit of global strategies. In such activity (agriculture, finance, heath, education…), cooperatives and mutual successfully innovate to adapt the social and economic crisis. What are their advantages and weaknesses?
